Woodward Academy/GMA

Woodward Academy, formerly Georgia Military Academy, was founded in 1900 as a military boarding school for boys. In 1964, the school became co-educational. The military program was dropped from the curriculum in 1966 and the school name was changed to Woodward Academy. The boarding program was discontinued in 1993.

There are approximately 2,900 students in grades PK-12 on two campuses: Woodward North in Johns Creek (PK-6) and Main Campus in College Park (K-12).

Woodward Academy has embraced a philosophy of education that asserts the importance and uniqueness of the individual student. Our motto is "Excellence, Character, Opportunity."
