WHERE IS IT - Hillcrest Cemetery,2200 block of Stanton Road, East Point, GA 30344
WHAT IS IT - This event is a celebration of the completion of our original task ofclearing the overgrowth from all graves at Hillcrest, in appreciationto all our volunteers and donors for making it possible, and inremembrance of why this place exists and deserves to bewell-maintained. We want to invite everyone affiliated with Hillcrest to come together for a day...families, friends, volunteers, donors, local officials and the community at large...to share stories with oneanother, meet old friends and strangers alike, and enjoy someactivities together, including:
Guided walking tours of the oldest section of the cemetery. Demonstrations of the proper care and cleaning of memorial stoneworkGroundbreaking for the new Hillcrest Veterans Memorial Planning for the next volunteer projects at HillcrestRecognition of volunteers and donors. While this is not a scheduled volunteer work day at Hillcrest, if youwish to use this occasion to tend to your family lot, please feel freeto do so! We will bring a small supply of tools so you don't have to, including gloves, rakes, brooms, and other hand tools.

Tri Cities Historical Societies (East Point, College Park and Hapeville). The annual picnic is being held where all three groups normally get together and all members of each group are encouraged to attend. East Point is hosting this year. June 6 2009, 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the East Point Christian Church fellowship hall.
ReplyDeleteThe East Point Historical Society will be open before, during and after (10-4) to give Hapeville and College Park Historical Society members a chance to view our facility located at 1685 Norman Berry Dr. in East Point.
